Full Job Description

At Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council we value our residents and are committed to delivering high quality service. To support our customer experience journey a new role has been created for an experienced IT Digital Project Manager to join our Programme Management Office (PMO) and Improvement team. The team sits within the Customers, Digital and Improvement Directorate providing strategic advice and guidance along with delivery of programmes and projects, change management and continuous improvement activity. The team works collaboratively across all council teams, both internally and externally focused. You will be required to manage the planning and delivery of specific IT Digital projects, carrying out assigned project work to ensure the achievement of project objectives within agreed time, quality, and cost, maintain and ensure effective project governance, standards, and controls including risks, issues, benefits, change, along with building relationships with colleagues from across the council and interact with our consultancy teams.

You will have considerable experience in a similar position within the IT sector, juggling multiple projects in a complex, dynamic environment and be able to demonstrate successful experience of managing project delivery from concept stage through to transition. Successful candidates will have experience of:

  • Implementing new technologies and systems, such as CRM, Webforms, SharePoint, BI,
  • Process mapping and the ability to derive requirements for business applications from processes,
  • Understanding of different lifecycles; waterfall, iterative and hybrid,
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to manage risks, issues, and change,
  • Able to demonstrate leadership and facilitation skills,
  • Managing both 3rd party and internal stakeholders.
  • You will be an experienced project professional with a clear understanding of project management methodologies, be reliable, confident, and proactive, with a flexible approach, be able to provide robust advice and guidance within this discipline, be able to embrace and drive change, be able to meet deadlines and communicate positively and effectively.
