Full Job Description

My name is Lisa Broom, I am the Pharmacy Operational Manager for Dispensaries and Near Patient Services at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I have worked for the Trust for 25years and am proud to lead our Operational Team in providing a dispensary service, supplying in-patient, outpatient and discharge medication to Patients throughout the Trust., Due to impending maternity leave, I am looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to take on the role of Dispensary Co-ordinator for the Horton Dispensary, supporting the Senior Technician in day to day service provision to the rest of the hospital., The Dispensary issues approximately 8000 items a month and the post holder will need to be able to juggle a variety of tasks, continually read the work situation and make informed decisions under pressure to ensure that we meet our Key Performance Indicators and that all dispensary related tasks are completed according to standard operating procedures and in a safe and timely manner. You will need to be a confident decision maker, with clear leadership skills, excellent pharmaceutical knowledge and technical skills and a sound understanding of pharmacy service and hospital services. You will be responsible for co-ordinating day to day services from the dispensary and supporting the Senior Pharmacy Technician in key aspects of staff management, including recruitment, induction and training of new staff to the team. You will help investigate incidents and undertake risk assessments and Health and Safety Audits within the department.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technician keen to expand their level of responsibility and leadership experience.,
