Full Job Description

Inscape House School is a specialist school for children with autism and related conditions, based on the Together Trust Campus in Cheadle. The school has a broad and balanced curriculum incorporating the National Curriculum with an emphasis on the development of social, communication and personal skills as set out in the Inscape House School Teaching and Learning Policy. Salary £18,667.17 Hours 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday, Thursday, Friday and 8:30am to 4:30pm Tuesday and Wednesday Location - Based within Priestnall High School, Heaton Mersey however employed by and also working at Inscape House School, Cheadle. As an Educational Assistant you will support the learning and care of pupils across the school, under supervision and guidance of teachers and therapists. Safeguarding children and vulnerable people is a priority for all employees. You will work with teachers and therapists in assisting the delivery of the curriculum and in the care of the pupils. In addition, you will be required to participate in other activities within the school including supervision of play and lunchtimes.

  • Based at Priestnall supporting the delivery of the curriculum and any associated support plans for a pupil pupils under the guidance of and in consultation with Inscape House's Head of Outreach & Priestnall School's Autism Lead.
  • Work across both schools, deployed by Inscape House's Head of Outreach & Priestnall School's Autism Lead.
  • Supporting the delivery of the curriculum and any associated support plans for a pupil / pupils under the guidance of and in consultation with Inscape House's Head of Outreach & Priestnall School's Autism Lead and the class teachers.
  • Assume a particular responsibility for part of the work of the school in one of the following areas; science, PE, music, food technology, enrichment curriculum

    Do you have a Teaching Assistant qualification or commitment to obtain such qualification within a given period along with evidence of recent relevant professional development?
  • We are seeking someone with experience of working with children with autistic spectrum disorders within a school setting.
  • Do you have experience of successful work with pupils who present with behaviour's that concern and an ability to work in co-production with parents?
  • Can you be flexible in dealing with changing circumstances and display a clear commitment to the ethos and practices of the school and the Together Trust?
  • Can you support young people to reach their full potential?
  • Do you thrive working as part of a team which includes teachers, speech & language therapists, educational psychologists and other educational assistants?
