  • Plan and deliver dynamic English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring lessons are aligned with the curriculum and cater to a diverse range of learners.
  • Create engaging and inclusive lesson plans that incorporate a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to inspire students.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Foster a strong understanding of English literature and language, encouraging students to engage critically with texts and express their ideas clearly.
  • Promote creativity and critical thinking by encouraging students to explore themes, ideas, and texts in depth, fostering a love for reading and writing.
  • Support students in developing writing and communication skills, ensuring that they can confidently articulate their ideas both orally and in writing.
  • Incorporate real-world applications into lessons, ensuring that students can see the relevance of English in their everyday lives.
  • Collaborate with the English department and other staff to share best practices and contribute to cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the school's extracurricular program by organizing activities like book clubs, drama productions, or writing competitions to enhance students' love for literature.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and attendance, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment, supporting student well-being and encouraging respect and cooperation among students.

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching English in secondary schools.
  • A strong understanding of the English curriculum and assessment practices.
  • A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject (desirable).
  • A passion for teaching English and inspiring students to engage with literature and language.
