For example, it is anticipated that corporate philanthropy can play a pivotal role in supporting scholarships, providing internships and mentors, research funding and wider knowledge transfer activities. DARO exists to support the University's academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University's strategic priorities. The Office, which is comprised of five teams, is focused on fundraising and volunteering from alumni, organisations and individuals who are passionate about changing lives, through funding various research trials, supporting student bursaries, mentoring students, and providing internships. Main Duties Fundraising and developing corporate partnerships Deliver against financial targets through philanthropic corporate donations.

  • Strategically plan and manage a short, medium and long-term pipeline of funding applications and relationships to enable year-on-year corporate philanthropy income growth.
  • Build a pipeline of corporate partnerships worth five, six and seven-figures, which are multi-channel and secure income to contribute towards the team income target.
  • The post-holder will have a set portfolio of relationships that they will steward and develop, whilst maintaining a watching brief to identify new opportunities for strategically valuable partnerships.

To fulfil our exciting campaign ambitions, we are recruiting a Head of Corporate Philanthropy to maximise philanthropic funding. A key member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office's (DARO) Charitable Partnerships team, you will identify, create and manage corporate philanthropic partnerships with local, national and global businesses. You will have an enthusiasm for building relationships, the skill to interact with high-level corporate professionals and academics, experience of delivering against KPIs and KPTs, along with the ability to translate complex information into a compelling case for support in both verbal and written form. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to shape and develop the focus of their portfolio in, Fundraising and Corporate Partnership Development
  • Strong track record of securing six-figure and, possibly, seven and eight-figure corporate funding.
  • Proven business development/sales skills, including the ability to deliver to annual financial targets.
  • Proven client relationship management experience, including the ability to deliver milestones and contracted outputs within agreed deadlines.
  • Develop and grow relationships with multiple stakeholders within a business or corporate foundation, utilising networks and colleagues from across the University.
  • Excellent understanding of corporate philanthropy with the ability to act as a point of contact for all internal/ external enquiries in this area.
