Full Job Description
To be successful in the post, the Health and Safety Officer provides support and oversight to Academies regarding health and safety areas of operation.,
- Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, the Health and Safety Officer provides support and oversight to academies regarding all areas of health and safety, implementation, and working practice.
- Work with academy Operations Managers and other relevant colleagues to ensure that academy policies and health and safety activities are appropriately reviewed, developed, monitored, and implemented.
- Support the delivery of the academy priorities and provide assurance regarding legal and organisational compliance.
- Collaborate with relevant colleagues (including other Health and Safety Officers) to fulfil the requirements of the role and contribute positively to the effective running of the health and safety function within the Trust.

This position is offered on a hybrid basis, with a mixture of home working, attending meetings at our head office in Kingswood, Bristol, and visiting a number of our academies across the Southwest. Teaching Training - The CLF SCITT provides school-centred initial teacher training for graduates who want to become a primary or secondary school teacher. This role has significant responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice within the academy. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity. The successful applicant will, in accordance with statutory guidance, be subject to a comprehensive pre-employment checking process including references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK and a child disqualification check. The checks will also include an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list.
