Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled ICU Technician Assistant to join the ICU Technician team providing specialist technical support on an 23 bed unit. Every day we strive to deliver excellent and compassionate care to our patients.

Informal visits are encouraged as this role on ICU differes from other Technician roles in the trust

Main duties of the job

Electronic stock management system administration of clinical consumables

ensure stock levels are maintained

ensure consumables within date and are safe to use

Maintain and ensures the safe use of complex high risk medical equipment used in patient areas.

Prepare and clean medical equipment to be used on patients.

Support medical and nursing staff prepare equipment for use

Trouble shoot equipment problems

Ensure daily checking of ICU equipment

Under supervision, undertake routine maintenance of all Intensive Care equipment with clinical engineering and outside agencies.

Records service histories

Assist with the evaluation of equipment for purchase and development and tender specifications and trials

Ensure resuscitation equipment available for use in the whole trust.

Plan routine working rotas and equipment service schedules
