Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse to join our In-Patient Unit leadership team on a 12-month fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will work with two other lead nurses providing leadership, clear direction and support to the IPU team, promoting a culture of innovation, flexibility and high performance. Working collaboratively with clinical teams across the Hospice, particularly our Willen at Home team, to ensure high quality, seamless, evidence-based Specialist Palliative nursing care is delivered., The ideal candidate will have advanced communication skills with proven experience of managing a team and will have previously held a lead position in a setting that provides 24 hour care. You will hold a developed mix of specialist clinical skills, will be self-motivated with an interest in continuously improving the quality of patient care through good governance and supporting nurse led initiatives.

Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. Our person centred care is delivered with compassion and respect for peoples wishes. We have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy.
