Full Job Description
The Lead Worker Service will support survivors of domestic abuse and their children as they often need support to navigate their options, maintain their safety, recover, and rebuild their lives.
The Lead Worker service will be delivered throughout the Birmingham Local Authority Area.
This service is survivor-specific and community-based providing up to 12 months' specialist support to survivors of domestic abuse who require regular help with recovery, rebuilding their lives and developing resilience.
The Lead Worker service offers early targeted support for survivors to help them to prevent crisis, escalated risk, or worsening health and wellbeing. The service will provide a range of in-depth, personalised, specialist support to help survivors recover and rebuild from the devasting impacts of domestic abuse.
The Lead Worker will be that vital link between the survivor and other appropriate services, both statutory and non-statutory, acting as advocate, unblocking barriers, and facilitating access into appropriate services.
The Lead worker service will co-ordinate interventions delivered by other agencies to ensure that the right support is offered at the right time by others. This includes helping survivors to access specialist support services such as drug and alcohol support. This help should be part of an in-depth one-to-one support offer, not simply signposting or sharing information about other services.

Relevant roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from Disclosure and barring service (DBS).
+ Experience of managing a caseload
+ Experience of partnership working with key professional such as social services, Police, Health and other support agencies
+ Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
+ Up to 12 months experience of working with survivors of Domestic Abuse
+ Knowledge or experience of carrying out DASH risk assessments and making referrals into MARAC
+ Have working knowledge of safeguarding in both adults and children
+ Experience of carrying out safety plans
+ Good data collection, monitoring and IT skills, including word processing and using databases and Excel spreadsheets
+ Ability to travel across Birmingham to co locate and work within the community.
