Full Job Description

  • Always safeguard all students
  • Act as keyworker and point of contact for parents and carers
  • Complement the teaching provision to support students' access of school-based education
  • Facilitate pastoral and academic sessions and bespoke interventions with students on school site, offsite venues and/ or the home address
  • Contribute to Risk Assessment, EHCP reviews and other student-related documentation
  • Ensure daily trackers are completed for allocated students, with evidence of progress
  • Liaise with Teachers and SENCo to support with matters relating to students' access arrangements
  • Support students with formal and mock exams, including acting as an invigilator if required
  • Transport students from home to school and various timetabled community venues
  • Lead pre-planned 1-2-1 sessions in school and various community venues, Core
  • Uphold the vision and values of Belong Learning

  • Support pupils to achieve well, relative to their prior attainment, qualification pathway
  • and aspirational academic targets set; create and implement action plans to overcome identified barriers to learning
  • Provide activities and opportunities that meet the needs of children and link to their
  • strengths and interests as well as their areas for development
  • Enable pupils to become increasingly independent learners
  • Deliver teacher set learning and collate evidence
  • Identify barriers to learning and liaise with teachers and pastoral team to overcome them
  • Read, understand and incorporate into learning the content of pupils' EHCPs and other relevant information.
  • Children
  • Work one-to -one and in small groups with students to engage them in education, through activities and lessons in off-site venues and/or the home address
  • Support delivery of a bespoke curriculum
  • Act as keyworker for allocated students, advocating for them and embedding positive relationships with other agencies involved
  • Understand the importance of good attendance and work tirelessly to help pupils achieve it, following the school's Attendance Policy
  • Be an advocate for the child, supporting them to identify and communicate needs
  • Support compliance with the Home-School agreement
  • Ensure accurate recording on school management information systems
  • Allocate reward points and behavioural points consistently and fairly
  • Ensure pupils understand the importance of punctuality
  • Support pupils with transition to other settings, including Post-16 options.

  • Liaise with and record all communication with parents
  • Communicate with internal contacts and external agencies consistently and appropriately
  • Environment
  • Be part of a safe, stimulating, and consistent environment for learning
  • Role model the care and upkeep of on-site and off-site facilities
  • Role model sustainability awareness and ethical thinking
  • Follow Belong School policy and guidelines on food and drink consumed during school hours
  • Safeguarding
  • Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (including Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and the school's safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Use CPOMS accurately, effectively and consistently
  • Promote the safeguarding of all students in the school
  • Liaise with Safeguarding Leads in line with policy
  • Health and Safety
  • Contribute to Risk Assessments for students, activities and venues, with responsibility
  • for allocated students/ groups
  • Vigilance and awareness of the environment and needs of students at all times
  • Engage with the health and safety requirements of a school environment, including reporting of all identified risks
  • Sign in and out of sites as required
  • Compliance with accident reporting and RIDDOR
  • Comply with tracking requirements whilst working in off-site venues
  • Training and Development
  • Complete all Statutory and company training when required

  • Attend regular team meetings and Inset days
  • Engage positively in induction, probation, and performance management processes

  • GCSE or equivalent level in English and maths
  • Desirable:
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant
