Torus Group is looking for a dynamic and strategic Learning and Development Business Partner to drive the growth, skills, and capabilities of our teams, ensuring we deliver excellence across everything we do. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the smooth implementation of our colleague-focused and commercially minded Group Learning and Development strategy. Collaborating with senior leaders and the People Services team, you'll offer innovative, value-driven, and timely solutions that support colleagues throughout their careers while ensuring compliance and safety across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to lead L&D initiatives with a continuous improvement approach, ensuring our training content delivers measurable impact and meets the evolving needs of both colleagues and the business. Based in Liverpool, with travel to St Helens, Warrington, and other locations as required, this role is perfect for a forward-thinking professional eager to shape the future of learning at Torus Group. Responsibilities:

  • Identify and oversee leadership engagement and development programme interventions, which meet individual and business needs in
  • a timely way.
  • Design and oversee the Group's annual training plans in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Review learning interventions, processes, and systems throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring maximum impact and user
  • experience that drives high performance and engagement.
  • Provide leadership, line management, development, and support to the Learning and Development Coordinator to ensure the full
  • duties of their role are carried out accurately and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders, managers, and the People Services team to develop learning and development strategies that
  • support the retention of colleagues across the Group with the desired skills and behaviours required by the business now and in the future, with a focus on succession planning and business continuity.
  • Evaluate via our competency framework future skill, capability, and capacity needs in liaison with senior leaders and business
  • partners to meet business needs.
  • Design and deliver learning and development interventions that take account of new advances in technology and thinking,
  • recommend and introduce improvements with a focus on the needs of the business and the ongoing development of new recruits and existing colleagues.
  • Oversee the Torus apprenticeship levy programme, ensuring that it focuses on current and future talent needs of the business
  • and maximises use of the levy.
  • Be responsible for the Torus LMS platform, all learning activities, ensuring learning and development records and reporting are
  • accurate across the Group.
  • Work with existing suppliers to ensure VFM and source new suppliers where needed.
  • Ensure that all learning and development processes are documented, easy to follow, and regularly reviewed to ensure they are
  • efficient.
  • Ensure that all learning and development reporting is scheduled and delivered, including non-attendance reporting to managers,
  • and that the measurement of KPI's and standards is undertaken in relation to Learning and Development activities.
  • Ensure that all SLA's are fulfilled, provide MI, analysis, and long-term plans, working in partnership with People Services
  • Business Partners.
  • Evaluate the impact and outcomes of learning interventions within business areas and promote outcomes to colleagues.
  • Promote Learning and Development activities via internal social media to encourage engagement and participation across the
  • Group.
  • Be responsible for the learning and development budget, ensuring it is managed and tracked accurately and reported regularly to
  • the People Services Leadership team.
  • Contribute to the People Strategy in areas of attraction, engagement, retention, and reward of colleagues across the Group.

    CIPD Advanced Level 7 qualification or an equivalent professional learning and development qualification is advantageous.
  • Qualified and experienced coach.
  • Evidence of and commitment to continual professional, leadership and personal development
  • Track record of delivering an effective learning and development service within a fast-moving large organisation, resulting in
  • measurable business benefits
  • Track record of facilitating delivery of effective learning interventions to meet business objectives, including leadership
  • development
  • Track record in supporting managers to deliver effective people performance practices utilising recognised policies and
  • procedures.
  • Evidence of operating collaboratively with leaders and managers and building effective working relationships at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating activities with a focus on achieving value for money in daily operations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Inclusion in the workplace and in the delivery of services to customers.
