Learning Support Assistant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant practitioner to join our team, providing key SEN support within the classroom on a 1:1 basis and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met., As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll provide personalised in-class support on a 1:1 basis, supporting the student in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you'll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent as a minimum
• Hold at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent, which must include English and Maths at C/4 grade or above
• The ability to take the initiative to support students presenting with a range of SEND
• Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
• Ability to effectively communicate on the students progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of working with children who present with anxiety and other social, emotional and mental health difficulties
• Excellent communication with children and parent/carers.
