Full Job Description

The role of Lived Experience Practitioner (LEP) has been specifically developed to support and inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. Empowering others to move through periods of mental health crisis with support and awareness of CRHTT and alternative provisions to support ongoing wellbeing and mental health. This lived experience role is focussed on providing appropriate, effective interventions and treatments to individuals within the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams who may present with a range of vulnerabilities that may be linked to their mental health problems. This may include support to carers (including friends and relatives) and their supporters in the community by enabling and assisting them to meet daily health, social care and well-being needs, in line with personal recovery goals, and facilitating engagement with mainstream services. The role includes providing information, advice, support, and encouragement to current service users in contact with the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams, acting as a role model by utilising their life experiences to facilitate engagement and recovery. You will work closely with colleagues in the Urgent care pathway, including the local crisis alternative provision 'Breathing Space' and more widely across the organisation to develop and embed the principles of recovery orientated practice and support the ongoing delivery of the Trust's Peer Support and Lived Experience workforce., We are looking for a Lived Experience Practitioner (LEP) that will support close relationships and smooth working across the CRHTT and Crisis Alternatives in the local area, including the third sector 'Crisis beds provision' and the Breathing Space. As a LEP, you will be working towards promoting the rights of individuals accessing CRHTT and Breathing Space. You will also be supporting individuals, carers and significant others alongside the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams in the production of specific, personalised, comprehensive Safety Planning development and interventions to support wellbeing and safety.
