Full Job Description

  • The main duties will involve undertaking general aseptic service duties that include preparation of medicines, assembling and transferring drugs and consumables into the aseptic service clean rooms following standard operating procedures
  • Participating in documentation creation on software systems, conducting cleaning of aseptic rooms and associated equipment.
  • Supporting the stock maintenance service, ensuring that sufficient quantities of drugs and consumables are ordered.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with good interpersonal and organisational skills to work in our busy Aseptic unit within the pharmacy department at The Leicester Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and enjoy both an individual challenge and working as part of a friendly, dynamic team.
  • You must be a professional, registered Pharmacy Technician and hold the NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and have significant post qualification experience in an aseptic or production unit environment. You will be working closely with the Team Leader, Principal Pharmacy Technician and Accountable Pharmacist to ensure all activities within the unit are carried out within the guidelines and standards for Good Manufacturing practice.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030). We have four primary goals:
  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence
  • And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities. Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team
  • This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
