Multiskilled Tradesperson

You will work as part of the WLBS Delivery team working across all 3 work streams (DRS, Void properties and Responsive Repairs) to provide a robust and efficient repairs service. You will undertake the duties aligned with your respective trade to a high standard and in a timely and cost-effective manner.

You will use your construction related multiskilled abilities to provide support to other trades as and when required. As part of the WLBS Delivery team, you will carry out repairs and maintenance to our housing stock across the borough. You will work a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm. You must be reliable and punctual. Your work base will be Makerfield Way, Ince, and you must be prepared to travel between sites on a daily basis.

We are looking to recruit motivated tradespersons who have a keen interest in the construction / building maintenance industry. You will have over 2 year's experience of working in the social housing sector. You must have NVQ 2/3 or equivalent qualifications in the desired trades (Electrical, Plastering, Joinery, Plumbing). You must be punctual and reliable and embrace the Be-Wigan behaviours.

The council's in-house Property maintenance Teams Wigan and Leigh Building Services are responsible for delivering high quality responsive repairs maintenance service to around 23,000 council homes across the borough . We also carry out planned programmes of refurbishment such as Bathroom refits and one-off project works within schools and other corporately owned properties.
