Full Job Description

To deliver safe andeffective care of patients from admission to discharge in accordance withHealthcare Commission Standards, NMC Guidelines for Professional Practice andcompany policies and procedures. Ensure the clients are aware of their options Undertaking consultations including the discussion and confirmation of treatment options. Discuss contraceptive options and provide / fit contraception in accordance with guidelines NUPAS policies Appropriately Consenting clients for treatment / procedures. Provide and inform clients on STI Screening Identify safeguarding concerns. Checking details on client notes and alerting Doctor / surgeon / anaesthetist to any significant conditions Ensuring clients are informed about aftercare prior to discharge Providing confidential telephone advice for clients with post-operative problems following discharge Completion of contemporaneous client records, consent and registers This is a hybrid role with a combination ofworking in clinic and working from home providing telephone consultations. It is the responsibility of the post holder to minimise the NUPAS environmental impact wherever possible. This will include switching off lights, computers, monitors and other non-essential equipment when not in use. Helping to minimise business travel, reduce paper waste by minimising printing / copying, correct waste disposal, reducing water usage, reporting faults and heating / cooling concerns promptly. The post holder will have a duty to ensure that the principles of patient, carer and public involvement and engagement are adhered to in line with Section 11 of The Health and Social Care Act 2012 for Improving Patient Experience. All staff are required to adhere to the principles of patient centred care as detailed in the NICE Quality Standard for Patient Experience and to treat patients with dignity, kindness, compassion, courtesy, respect, understanding and honesty. The post holder will, in support of the NUPAS Values & Values and ensure that everyone is treated as an individual, and will acknowledge and value difference in order to treat everyone fairly., This is a hybrid role witha combination of working in clinic and working from home providing telephoneconsultations.

You will need to be able to fulfil an integral role within our multidisciplinary team delivering a confidential abortion service. You will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, caring and empathetic. Pro-choice is a must.,

  • Current Nurse and or Midwifery Council NMC registration as a Registered Nurse Sub part 1 of the NMC register Registered Midwife. Up to date knowledge and experience of working in a sexual health TOP or Gynaecological service. Current Nurse or Midwife NMC registration as a Registered Nurse Sub part 1 of the NMC register Registered Midwife., Faculty of Reproductive Sexual Healthcare FSRH Letter of Competence in intrauterine techniques IUS and or IDU fitter and Insertion and removal of Subdermal Implants. SDI Recognised qualification in Independent / Supplementary Prescribing. Ultra sound scanning experience in first and second stage trimester. Ultrasound Scanning (t / a and t / v). If you are also qualified in ultrasound scanning, you will be eligible for an enhanced rate of pay to carry out scans.
