Full Job Description

The following are the main duties and responsibilities associated with the post:

Delivery of clinical care of a high standard and to undertake any reasonable clinicalresponsibility appropriate to the postManagement of the service, including supporting and leading junior staff, and working with theatre schedulers and other staff to ensure lists and clinics are safe and planned

The successful candidate will have access to a computer and shared office space with another Consultant/Senior Manager. Secretarial and clerical support to provide diary management, telephone enquiries/theatre scheduling is shared amongst the consultant body with a designated secretary and scheduler for each consultant.Attendance at MDT and service meetings.Taking an active and engaged role in departmental responsibilities as allocated by agreement, including cover for annual leave and other absences as appropriate.Engage fully in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit.

The Oxford Sarcoma Service is involved in many innovative initiatives to enhance the provision of surgery for both bone and soft tissue sarcoma whilst continuing to work closely with academic colleagues to build the evidence base for surgical procedures. We are looking for an applicant who is a team player and has relevant experience in both the management of sarcoma, including experience in using multidisciplinary team working and in undertaking complex reconstructive surgery to the hip, pelvis, knee and other site-specific areas as required.

The service is closely aligned with the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences at the University of Oxford, with many opportunities for collaboration.

You must be fully registered with the GMC/GDC and hold a full License to Practice and be on the specialist register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.
