Full Job Description

We require an experienced and qualified peripatetic drum teacher. The post will involve teaching Year 7 - 11 students weekly drum lessons (individually for 30-minute lessons). Teaching hours will be discussed at interview, but it is likely to be in the region of 2.5 hours per week with potential to increase through a supported recruitment drive and taster lessons.

Instrumental teachers invoice parents directly in advance of lessons commencing and operate on a Service Level Agreement with the school. Instrumental teachers operate as self-employed service providers.

The teacher we seek to appoint would be expected to teach engaging, relevant and stimulating lessons to every student. We also expect our instrumental teachers to be involved in preparing instrumental students for school performances as well as GCSE / BTEC and external instrumental exams.

Severn Vale School is an Academy which provides an inclusive secondary education for students aged 11-16, that delivers strong student outcomes through high quality teaching. The school is proud of its inclusive credentials and, in an area that has retained selection, subscribe instinctively to the comprehensive ideal. We are a popular and over-subscribed 11-16 academy, with 1350 students on roll.
