Full Job Description

Hi I'm Prit, Chief Pharmacy tech in Operations at SWBH Pharmacy.
We are looking for hard working and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistants to join our friendly team within the Pharmacy Stores & Distribution areas to work at our brand new Sheldon Block Pharmacy - Stores & Distribution hub due to open early next year in 2025 and to also work at the brand new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) which is due to open in October 2024!
You will be part of the Pharmacy Stores & Distribution Team where you will be supported by the Lead Pharmacy Technician in Procurement, Stores & Distribution, Senior Pharmacy Assistants and Rotational Pharmacy Assistants on a daily basis.
Within this role there will be an opportunity to work towards and obtain an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services qualification which is a fantastic opportunity for any individuals wanting to begin their career within a hospital pharmacy setting. SWBH have created a great career pathway for ATOs to progress onto bigger and better things within hospital pharmacy.
We have an extensive training package which will be provided to ensure you have the support you need to excel in this role., Main duties of this role will involve:
1. Be based in the Pharmacy Stores & Distribution areas.
2. Receipting and booking in of Pharmacy deliveries on the pharmacy stock control system (CMM) with consideration of special storage conditions.
3. To match all delivery notes and invoices with official purchase orders ensuring that any discrepancies are reported to the senior member of staff working in the stores/procurement team so arrangements can be made for replacement or credit where applicable
4. To ensure all pharmacy goods are stored safely in the correct location in line with stock control principles.
5. To load appropriate stock into the pharmacy robot and assist with troubleshooting basic errors where applicable after completion of appropriate training.
6. To maintain the cold chain of any refrigerated/freezer items and report any breaches of the cold chain to a senior member of the stores team to be investigated.
7. To maintain a clean and safe environment and ensure all equipment is maintained and used in the correct manner following Health and Safety regulations.
8. Top up medications in the Automated Drug Cabinets on the wards.
9. Picking and processing medication requests for hospital ward/clinic areas.
Note: this role is not a dispensary based role and does not involve dispensing.
