Full Job Description

Beyond Housing is a major registered social landlord providing over 15,000 homes across Teesside and North Yorkshire. An exciting opportunity has arisen within our operational Voids team in Redcar for a qualified and experienced Plasterer. The role will involve carrying out planned and reactive maintenance work to include all aspects of plastering, ranging from general small repairs, tiling, DPC tanking and pointing work. Your main duties will include fully plastering kitchens and bathrooms to a high standard, within a timely manner.,

  • Removal and refitting of radiators to gain access to wall areas requiring plastering. The skills involved will include isolating the radiator, removing and refitting existing radiators, bleeding the systems and testing for leaks
  • Wall tiling and floor tiling, including removal of wall tiles. The skills required will involve tiling of wall and floor areas as required, including setting out, matching tiles to existing, cutting/shaping and grouting
  • Joinery (not minor) repairs including the removal and refitting/replacement of skirting, architraves, timber mouldings, and dado and picture rails. The skills required will involve measuring, cutting, scribing, mitering, and fixing as required to match the original.
  • As part of this role, you may also be eligible for callout payments, which will be discussed if you are invited to an interview.

  • Will need to have in-depth knowledge of repairs/maintenance of buildings in relation to plastering works
  • Will need a relevant NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent together with experience within the plastering trade
  • Must be fully competent in health and safety, with safe systems of work
  • Must have a full UK driving licence.
  • This is an extremely varied role requiring a self-starter who has the ability to work alone or in a team. You must be flexible with a willingness to learn and a capacity to grow within a developing and progressive organisation. You will be working within our Voids team focussing on delivering a right first-time approach and complying with our customer and quality standards. As part of this role, you may need to mentor an apprentice, volunteer or work experience placement.
