Full Job Description

This is a part time position for 22.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday; 8-4). An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the urology Clinical Admin Team (CAT) as Urology Receptionist. The post holder will be responsible for delivering an effective and efficient support service to the Urology Department, assisting in the provision of quality patient care. This will include general clerical and administrative duties that support the administrative elements of the entire patient pathway. The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway., The receptionist will have the ability to perform complex administrative functions and will be responsible for receiving patients and visitors attending outpatient clinics taking ownership of escalated administrative issues where appropriate. The receptionist works in close partnership with medical, nursing and secretarial staff to ensure the smooth running of the outpatients department., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

  • GSCE (or equivalent) or above in Maths and English Language, Essential criteria
  • Reception experience
  • Experience using IT / Digital systems
  • Desirable criteria
  • Experience within a customer service setting
  • Experience within an NHS administration environment
