Position: Regional Site Manager Contract Type: Permanent- 37.5 hours per week Location: Any site in the North East region Shift: Monday - Friday Why choose DHL eCommerce UK? About the role: The purpose of this role is to effectively and efficiently manage home site and support the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) with all aspects of best practice for the other sites in the region. Also to provide cover in a Site Manager (SM) capacity where there are vacancies within the region. The main role aim is to motivate, coach and develop a site team to achieve excellence in all areas of the operation. A focused and as necessary hands-on approach is required in all operational areas. The main role aim is to achieve excellence on standards of service, cost control and to liaise and work with the ROM to ensure that KPI's and minimum standards are achieved as detailed in the reporting documents. The role will require you to move site to site as required by the business and length of time in each site will be dependant upon the reason for cover. Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Cost control - Utilise all available data to drive cost reduction and efficiencies where applicable.
  • Service - Proactively drive service efficiencies & investigate root cause of any failures to determine improvement planning.
  • Health & Safety - To provide focus and ownership to reduce total accidents in the operation and ensure that regular health and safety reviews/assessments are undertaken.
  • Service Levels - Assist the network to meet/exceed service delivery commitments for all clients.
  • Error Monitoring - Ensure that the site operation delivers targeted or better against error performance for each unit.
  • To successfully deliver change and ensure the Site Operational team works to achieve Company vision and core values.
  • Take appropriate actions to ensure process, policy and legislative compliance in all activity throughout the Site. Foster a compliance led culture at all times.

  • Develop and maintain the processes and a culture that seeks and delivers continuous improvement whilst ensuring consistency of operations.
  • Actively coach and encourage site personnel to increase knowledge and understanding of site requirements
  • Fully support the training function and identify and put forward suitable candidates for appropriate training.
  • Provide coaching, training and relevant support to team members to promote personal development, succession planning and to and enhance individual competencies.
  • The ideal candidate will have:
  • CPC qualification (preferred)
  • Regional management experience
  • A thorough knowledge of the parcel industry
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data processing
  • Good knowledge of all computer systems relevant to the operation
  • Technical ability in all Operation disciplines including knowledge of all computerised operational packages
