The Residential Welfare Officer will develop processes for supporting student wellbeing in halls, which includes supporting a significant number of students with mental health issues. The post holder will promote student wellbeing in halls and will contribute to an annual events calendar to promote student wellbeing.
The post-holder will also review systems to manage discipline issues and complaints. The post-holder will be expected to lead investigations and lead student meetings, taking appropriate actions and educate students to ensure the best possible outcome for both the student and Queen Mary as a whole.

You should have the ability to assist students in conflict situations, you will have experience of supporting university students living in halls. You will have a strong commitment to promoting student support and wellbeing. You'll need to be process driven and have a high level of attention to detail, as note taking and record keeping is essential, to ensure transparent and fair processes are adhered to.

You will need to be fully aware of mental health issues and how this can impact on young adults as supporting students in such situations is an essential part of the role.
