Full Job Description

As a Residential Youth Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the lives of young people who require social, emotional, and mental health support. Your responsibilities will include:

+ Providing day-to-day care and support to young people.
+ Assisting in daily routines to ensure their well-being.
+ Encouraging engagement with educational support and homework.
+ Organising and participating in recreational activities.
+ Creating a safe and welcoming environment., + Build strong relationships with young people, promoting trust and emotional well-being.
+ Empower and motivate them to achieve their goals and overcome challenges.
+ Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within the home.

+ Maintain accurate records and documentation.
+ Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care., + All successful candidates will be subject to a vetting process in line with safer recruitment requirements. This includes right to work checks, Enhanced DBS Check for Children and Adults workforce (H2I will cover the cost of this check) and satisfactory reference checks in line with safer recruitment requirements.

+ Ofsted regulations outline that support workers working with children and young people must be 3 years older than the oldest young person within the home e.g., if a young person in the home was turning 18, you would need to be 21 at a minimum.

+ Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people's lives.
+ A willingness to work towards or current qualification in QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare.
+ Previous experience working with children or young people is a plus but not mandatory.
+ Resilience to be able to deal with challenging situations.
+ Positive role model - honesty and empathy are a must.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Salary: £25,798 - £30,048.12 per annum (Inclusive of your attendance allowance of £1,400 per annum and 1 sleep-in per week at £44.56 each)
