Would you like the chance to lead a high performing team and be responsible for the delivery of all services to do with school admissions, the Fair Access Protocol and school admission appeals? Do you have significant experience of working collaboratively with Headteachers, senior managers and other stakeholders? If so Lincolnshire County Council has the role for you.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead a well-established and respected admissions team for a well-regarded Local Authority.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of the School Admissions Team and the overall admissions process (coordinated and in-year) to ensure the Council meets its statutory duties.

The postholder will oversee the operation of Lincolnshire's Fair Access Protocol so negotiation and influencing skills are critical for this role.

You will be responsible for managing the delivery of school admission appeals, such as the preparation and presentation of the school's case at independent school admission appeals hearings.

This is a hybrid opportunity, the postholder must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle to attend meetings which can be Countywide.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual who has a sound knowledge and a good understanding of the education system and the school admissions process to join our Education Support Team.

We are looking for someone who has experience in a local authority admissions team or equivalent with knowledge and understanding of the School Admissions and School Admissions Appeal Codes and other related legislation and demonstrable ability and experience applying the legislation and guidance to various situations.

Good management skills, with particular emphasis on team leadership, development planning, working under pressure and to tight deadlines, problem solving and negotiating, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and multi-tasking are essential skills for the role.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will therefore be required, with the ability to use these effectively with a range of audiences to maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders., In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post., Disability Confident
