Senior HR Advisor

· Manage and guide all employee relations cases including advice and guidance on all policy and case matters

· Extensive knowledge of UK employment legislation and the practical application thereof

· Coach and develop line managers

· Identify areas for improvement and deliver relevant training/coaching sessions in support of continuous improvement

· Support all operational HR aspects of the employment life cycle across projects

· Build great relationships with key stakeholders

· Support the resource planning process across all relevant teams - mobilisation, talent acquisition and right sizing

· Play an active role in the transfer of talent across the business, encouraging career development plans, succession and identification of key talent at local level

· Ensure Central HR policies, processes and initiatives are communicated and deployed effectively at site level

Right to Work & Security Checks

Understandably given the nature of our business, everyone who is employed at Costain must undergo thorough referencing checks. We will need different information depending on the job we have offered you. For all roles, we'll carry out a criminal record check and we'll ask to see evidence that you have the legal right to work in the UK.

For some of our roles, you may be required to obtain and maintain security clearance of at least Security Check level (or SC clearance). To satisfy the requirements, you will need to have been a legal UK resident for a minimum of 5 years and have successfully complete all stages of the vetting process.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior HR Advisor join our HR Operations team at Costain. This is an exciting time to join the business as we continue to transform the business to realise our growth ambition. The Senior HR Advisor is responsible for working with managers within their area of responsibility and is the first point contact for all general HR matters relating to Company policy and procedure which cannot be resolved by the HR Service Centre.

We try, where possible to work dynamically, however this role is required to be on site three days per week in the Reading area with occasional travel across parts of the UK.

Potential candidates for this role must be able to obtain and retain Security Clearance.

You must be a UK Citizen and have not worked abroad in the last 5 years.
