Full Job Description

Berkshire Community Dietetic Service based at Tilehurst clinic in Reading has an opportunity to offer a part time fixed term post (18.75 - 22.5hrs) to cover mat leave. There is a degree of flexibility with some of these hours working remotely from home. The post is advertised as band 5-6 depending on experience. The role is a varied community post, covering a caseload for patients, covering locality outpatient clinics. There may also be the opportunity to provide specialist dietetic treatments including Home Enteral feeding. Experience is helpful but not essential as training and support will be provided including external recognised BDA courses where possible. We are a mobile working service and offer our patients the choice of face-to-face, virtual and phone appointments. To support this, we have excellent IT access and support staff home-working where appropriate. We engage in student training and facilitate teaching opportunities. We are a mobile working service and offer our patients the choice of virtual appointments. To support this, we have excellent IT access.Main duties of the job

  • Working under the guidance of the Team Lead Dietitian, to provide dietetic care to a varied and diverse caseload of patients in the community.
  • Providing specialist dietetic treatments e.g. Home Enteral Feeding
  • Travelling to and providing care at various sites including but not limited to community hospitals, patients' homes and some home working
  • Working remotely to provide dietetic advice to patients using virtual online platforms for example One Consultation and MS Teams.
  • Coaching, delegating work and supporting Dietetic Assistant Practitioners (DAPs).
  • Involvement in our student training programme
  • Participating in departmental research activity
