Full Job Description

We are looking for intuitive,enthusiasticand versatile pharmacists to join our diverse and inclusive team to help us deliver excellent compassionate care to our patients. The pharmacy department at OUH comprises of over 100 staff in the clinical pharmacy team, and we work across all 4 hospital sites. We are continually trying to improve the service we provide, learning from each other to optimise what we do., This is a split post where you will spend half of your time with the Pharmacy Paediatric cancer Team and the other half with the Clinical Trials team

Clinical trials:

Co-ordinate and deliver Pharmacy support to Researchers in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Work with the Clinical Trial Team, to strategically plan the workload for Pharmacy Services for the Trust and ensure operational implementation.

Ensure that Pharmacy procedures relating to clinical trials involving Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP's) are in accordance with appropriate regulations

Provide highly specialised professional expertise to Researchers in the development of clinical trial protocols involving medication and related substances and to provide advice & information regarding the application for Clinical Trial Authorisation (CTA) certification from the MHRA.

Paediatric cancer:

Become accredited to screen SACT to support inpatient, outpatient & day case patients both at OUH (PTC) and across the Thames Valley network

Providing clinical cover to Kamran's ward

Undertake NMP qualification as appropriate

Gain experience in building prescription templates within the chemocare system

Gain experience in managing commissioning of high cost drugs, and provision of medicines via compassion use schemes.

Working in teams with Consultant Pharmacists who are leading in their areas of specialisation nationally
