Full Job Description

Learn gardening and grounds maintenance skills and gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of parks, cemeteries and green spaces. The training will help you to prepare and apply for a roles with Wigan Council, including;

  • Seasonal Gardener (Roles available from February)
  • Apprenticeship (Roles available from April)
    • The programme includes:
  • Level 1 Award in Practical Horticulture Skills
  • Health and Safety Level 1 certificate
  • Employment, career planning skills and practice interviews
  • Three days of work experience with Wigan Council with a mixture of college and Wigan Council on-site learning.
  • Lots of support on next steps, including a guaranteed interview and guidance for applying for real job vacancies at the end of the programme.
