Archway was visited by a team of Ofsted inspectors in March 2022 and the school was graded "Good" in all five categories, with an overall effectiveness grade of "Good". The inspectors recognised the significant progress that had been made in many areas since the previous inspection in 2018. The school prides itself on its inclusive attitude and green credentials. The English Department currently consists of eight motivated English teachers who work closely together to plan and co-ordinate courses. The atmosphere is supportive, developmental and progressive. The department benefits from a very experienced HOD and a knowledgeable, enthusiastic team, who have played a major role in driving progress within the department. The uptake of English and Media Studies in the Sixth Form is very good.
