Full Job Description

We are seeking a Full Time Teaching Assistant to work in a Secondary School based in Yeovil. This role will be starting after October half term until Christmas and will become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role of a Teaching Assistant:
+ Assist Teachers and students in various settings, including 1:1, small groups, in-class and within on-site SEND resource bases
+ Assisting students with physical disabilities
+ Utilise methods to help students access lesson content or regulate behaviour according to EHCPs or other support plans
+ Promote positive, engaging and regulated learning environments for students in across all ages and abilities
+ Manage challenging behaviours

Are you keen to be an integral part of the teaching and learning provision for young people in secondary schools?
Do you have a variety of tried and tested methods that make learning fun and engaging?
Do you have specialist knowledge in SEND and additional learning needs from previously held TA roles?, + Be resilient and persistent, forming routines that promote strong learning habits
+ Have excellent written, numeracy and oral communication skills
+ Offer novel ways in engaging students of various learning needs, drawing on previous experience in working with children
+ Be someone who has a can-do attitude, with a variety of methods ready to help engage and regulate learners
+ Have previous experience working with students with SEND
+ Be punctual and reliable
+ Be helpful, with a drive to ensure every student can access lesson content
+ Be willing to complete a full registration with anzuk, including applying for a DBS and providing 2 full years of professional references
