Full Job Description

The countywide Kernow & Isles of Scilly Keyworking (KIOSK) Team have a new Keyworking Team Manager Vacancy. The team would like a Manager who is passionate about children and young people who need high quality help in the right place, and at the right time. KIOSK works hard to achieve the very best outcomes for children and young people who are experiencing poor mental health but who are autistic or have a diagnosed learning disability. The Team manager role combines leadership and management with time for direct interventions. This role will ensure that the KIOSK service helps to reduce the risk of mental health admission by understanding what young people and families need, liaising and planning with a wide range of services, just when it matters most. Keyworkers best describe their role as the 'glue' that brings services together to deliver person centred care. Keyworkers have a good understanding of local resources, schools and networks for children and young people with Autism
and Learning Disability. The team manager will have opportunity to be innovative, inspirational and creative with support, supervision and learning opportunities. Proposed interview date: 16th or 17th December

This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of further development of Keyworking across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, You will need to be able to travel around Cornwall, most Keyworking interventions are in local communities, homes and schools, reaching out to children, young people and their families, where they live. You will have experience of managing or supervising staff. You will have extensive knowledge of child development, understanding of trauma, mental health disorders, autism and learning disability, with a particular focus on young people in crisis. Whilst a significant portion of your time will comprise managerial support and leadership, you will hold a small active caseload of children and young people who, without keyworking interventions, would be at higher risk of hospital admission.

We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
