Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join the Acute General Medicine and Trauma Therapy Team at the Horton General Hospital, Banbury.

The successful candidate will work alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants to deliver high quality patient centred care. The post involves working with patients in a variety of areas including frailty and general medicine and and you will be expected to support your senior colleagues to provide intervention for individuals to promote recovery, rehabilitation and discharge.

In addition to the clinical elements of this role, the post also involves supporting the therapy team with general administrative duties and managing equipment and stock levels to ensure the smooth running of the service.

As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to:

Contribute to the development of the service, This position offers the opportunity to work part time as a Therapy Assistant within the integrated therapy service at the Horton hospital. Supporting the team to provide programmes of therapeutic activity for patients primarily in the Acute General Medical area. This will include implementing basic therapy assessments and interventions whilst maintaining records and ensuring equipment stocks are replenished with support of senior staff.

The post holder will be expected to work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team and senior support will ensure they receive regular continued professional development and opportunities to further expand skills and knowledge.
