NHS England Workforce, Training and Education have an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Pharmacy Technician Team within the South West region. We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic individuals to provide professional expertise to shape and provide the building blocks for the pharmacy technician workforce of the future. The role will involve working with trainees, education, training and development leads, and pharmacy employers across the region to ensure consistency, standardisation, and quality management of the Preregistration Trainee Pharmacy Technician training in the South West. Under the direction of the Lead Pharmacy Technician this post supports pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician training across the South West to:

  • Designing and implementing appropriate teaching, and learning to support trainees and their educational supervisors
  • Being an active member of the Trainee Team contributing to the design and development of the pharmacy education programme
  • Supporting the business planning processes to provide input into the strategic development of the work of the department
  • Identifying and supporting pharmacy trainees requiring additional support
  • Contribute to the availability of high quality training and support for Pharmacy Practice And Educational Supervisors
  • Providing professional expertise on a specific portfolio of work
  • Managing the provision and development of resources, services and opportunities for pharmacy technicians and their educators from across the healthcare professions
  • Support equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives in pharmacy education
  • Overseeing a portfolio of training activity programmes, with a focus on the community pharmacy technician apprenticeship programme
  • Having an understanding and awareness of how the activities and objectives of the department align with the wider business planning for NHSE WT&E, in particular to NHSE WT&E South West and a designated area
