Full Job Description

Your time will be spent on clinical assessment and review of Acute Medicine patients within the SDEC unit, under supervision of the Acute Medicine Senior clinical team. The remaining portion of the job will be spent helping develop departmental pathways and supporting leadership projects to progress the provision of Same Day Emergency Care.
Furthermore there will be allocated time for self-learning/development and SPA activities.
The Acute Medicine department has an active educational timetable with opportunities to attend and present at weekly educational meetings and attend Grand-round presentations.
We also actively teach medical students from Southampton University and St Georges Medical School and take time to help support this activity will be encouraged.
You will be well supported in their role by the Acute Medicine Department at the Royal Surrey and will work alongside other Clinical fellows and doctors within the Acute Medicine Department.
The post will include:
+ Responsibility for the assessment and review of Acute Medicine Same Day Emergency Care patients.
+ Discussion and review of clinical cases with senior clinical Acute Medicine team
+ Follow-up and review of clinical results
+ Developing Departmental clinical pathways
+ Teaching
This could include production of teaching resources and delivery of formal teaching sessions on:
+ Internal Medicine or various relevant topics of interest
+ Engage in quality improving projects
