Full Job Description

Progression Advisor (Maternity Cover) [HH0363]

Location: Haywards Heath College, part of the Chichester College Group

Salary: Pro rata of £23,732 - £25,935 per annum (i.e. £19,242.16 - £21,028.38)

Work Pattern: 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Do you want a rewarding part time role, making a real difference to learners' lives at college?

As our Progression Advisor you will play a vital role in providing careers information, advice and guidance to support students in their progression to higher education, employment, apprenticeships and many other avenues. You will provide and actively promote our careers service working with students, staff, stakeholders and local businesses in response to identified needs and national and local initiatives.

Our Progression Advisor will have proven customer service and organisational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people such as students, parents and other stakeholders.

This role entitles you to fantastic benefits, including a highly competitive Local Government Pension Scheme and above-statutory annual leave that rises with continuous service plus college closure days over the Christmas period which are not deducted from leave entitlement, plus the option to purchase up to 5 additional days. You also get access to a range of professional development opportunities and discount schemes, including schemes that give you discounts at a variety of shops, restaurants and more. Check out the Staff Benefits booklet attached to this advert for more information about our fantastic range of benefits available to staff.

The working pattern for this role is currently Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

This role is for a fixed term period of maternity cover for a maximum of one year, or the return, resignation or replacement of the current post holder, whichever is sooner.

Closing date: 24th March 2025

You will be asked to upload a CV before starting an application form for this role. The system will take information such as education and employment history from your CV and auto-populate the relevant parts of the application form to save you time. For the best results, we recommend your CV is formatted without columns or tables. Please check the auto-populated information for accuracy. Please note that your CV will not be seen by Recruiting Managers so please ensure your application form is fully completed.

Suitable candidates may be invited to interview prior to the closing date and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early should sufficient applications be received.

The Chichester College Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, which may include a check of the barred lists and any relevant overseas checks. We vigorously pursue all references and safeguarding checks to ensure applicants are suitable to work with young people.

As users of the disability confident scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role.

We are an equal opportunities employer.
