The Education Data and Insight Team are based within Education and Student Success. We're a team delivering analysis, insight, reporting and management information that is central to the University. We work closely with subject matter experts, senior stakeholders and collaborate within the team to develop ideas into solutions that help decision making or meeting operational and regulatory requirements. The post-holder will develop reporting products and analysis relating to the core student and education systems.What will you be doing?

• Join a team of reporting officers. You will develop and update reports and data products used across the University.
• Provide great looking, easy to use and accessible reporting products that everyone in the University can tap into.You and the team will transform raw data into impactful visual reports using tools such as Power BI, PowerQuery, Excel, DAX and SQL.
• Develop sustainable reports. Using SQL and Power BI skills alongside domain knowledge you will create accurate well-maintained reports and data assets.
• Work across key areas of the student records system. You will build knowledge of crucial business processes and services related to the core student record.
• Be accountable and work as a team. Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards. Engage with other similar teams to share and establish best practice.
  
  You've got experience working with Power BI to create intuitive interactive reports, dashboards and visualisations.
• You have experience of working with, or want to work with, large relational databases, SQL and GIT source control.
• You are happy to work in a small team with other subject matter and technical experts.
• You can take ideas and develop them into requirements and solutions.
• You are self-motivated to solve problems independently and can work with other team members.
• You're comfortable presenting complex, technical information to non-technical audiences.
• You're highly organised, able to ruthlessly prioritise and can manage a number of different tasks at the same time.
Nice to have:
• You've worked in an education setting in a UK university previously.
• You've worked with SITS, or another student records system.
• You have a good understanding of the issues facing UK higher education.
