Full Job Description
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. As the UK's biggest public service department, it administers a range of working age, pension age, disability and ill health benefits to around 18 million claimants and customers. The Child Maintenance Service (CMS) helps parents, who are unable to make a private financial agreement in support of their child(ren)'s living costs, ensure and at times enforce, the legal responsibility to provide financial support. Our mission is to 'get money to children' because it makes a real difference to children's lives. Child Maintenance Service is not only undergoing a significant period of change as we drive a crucial transformation agenda, but in tandem, we continue to deliver a politically significant and fundamentally crucial service to millions of separated families around the country who depend upon the work we do. Our story in recent years is one of impressive progress and improvement. Despite the progress we've made, we are unashamedly ambitious about what more we can achieve and the difference we can make for the families who need us. Child Maintenance Service is an amazing place to work. Walk into any one of our service centres and you will be overwhelmed by the passion and commitment that our people have for supporting our customers. People Development team are a dynamic and collaborative team at the forefront of capability building and learning & development (L&D). As People Development EO, you will play a key role in designing, enabling, and delivering a diverse portfolio of L&D initiatives that support the growth and development of colleagues across the Child Maintenance Service (CMS). In this fast-paced and evolving environment, you will work closely with L&D Leads and key stakeholders to ensure the seamless coordination of learning activities, driving efficiency and impact across the team. We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable individual who thrives on delivering creative, high-quality solutions and responding to the evolving learning needs of our workforce. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference, enhancing colleague capability, engagement, and performance while aligning learning and development to the organisation's strategic priorities.,
- Monitor and Report on Learning Activity: Track and analyse training participation and engagement trends to support continuous improvement and inform data-driven decisions.
- Coordinate and Enhance Induction Programmes: Manage the induction process from scheduling sessions to providing resources, ensuring a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for new starters.
- Provide Essential Support to L&D Leads and Stakeholders: Assist the People Development Leads and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and deliver effective L&D solutions.
- Manage L&D Programmes and Budgets: Oversee the administration of apprenticeship and development programmes, manage bookings, and support procurement and invoice processing to ensure value for money.
- Curate and Maintain Learning Resources: Develop engaging learning materials, maintain the People Development SharePoint site, and ensure resources are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Measure Learning Impact and Drive Improvement: Implement evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of L&D interventions, track key performance indicators, and use feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Strengthen Relationships with External Providers: Build and maintain positive partnerships with external training providers to maximise learning opportunities and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Support Continuous Development and Innovation: Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative learning solutions that align with organisational goals and respond to changing learning needs.
