Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time, fixed term Academic Support Administrator within Northumbria University's Student, Library and Academic Services (SLAS) Department, to provide administrative support relating to a range of degree programmes and courses. The role is fixed term, until 31 July 2025, as part of a secondment cover.

The successful candidate will join the Academic Support Team aligned to the Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences (ADSS), in supporting our enrolled students and academic staff, both digitally and in-person., Reporting to the Academic Support Coordinator, you will contribute to the provision of professional expertise for designated areas of activity to support and enhance the student experience. The priorities of the role vary according to the academic cycle, example activities include assessment management, marks entry and results release, the provision of regulatory advice, maintaining student records, examination board support, management of programme handbooks, and responding to general student queries.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive candidate with excellent team working, problem solving, digital and interpersonal skills. It is essential that the successful candidate has excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple competing demands and work well under pressure, especially during peak results periods.

A key part of the role is the development of effective working relationships with both academic and professional support staff at Northumbria University and Partner Institutions. Working as part of a wider Academic Support Service, consisting of other Academic Support Teams, you will have the opportunity to collaborate in working groups and work independently on cross-team projects., Northumbria University is a research-intensive university that unlocks potential for all.
