AWS Cloud Engineer

Reporting to the Head of Development, the AWS Cloud Engineer will work closely with the development teams, QA, product, operations & other infrastructure engineers within the team. This is a remote role within the UK. The infrastructure team works entirely remotely with occasional meetings in the office. So, who are we? • Plan & document work before commencing
• Attend to AWS Request for actions
• Perform regular system refreshes
• Maintain pre existing systems
• Manage & create AWS Accounts, Users, Groups & permissions in SSO
• Decommission infrastructure safely
• Mitigate security non-compliances (across accounts)
• Responding to ad hoc requests from other teams / stakeholders
  
  Principles & practices of CI/CD with everyday working knowledge
• Creation, maintenance & optimisation of deployment pipelines
• Common GIT workflows & their appropriate usage
• JIRA/Confluence & G Suite
• Solid knowledge of Varnish, Nginx, Tomcat & Apache
• Faulting finding & tracing using terminal access & other tools
• Infrastructure as code, specifically CloudFormation
• AWS Security, from the use of policies, roles & SSO to security groups & network access controls lists. Preferably with understanding of OUs & SCPs
• Cost control & cost awareness across the AWS estate
• Strong skills around logging, monitoring & alerting
The below would be an advantage too:
• Demonstrated professional experience working with AWS
• Strong hands on with AWS infrastructure experience
• AWS Certifications preferable
