Full Job Description
Communication
· To receive telephone calls and emails from outside agencies, deal with them if possible or refer on as appropriate.
· To plan and coordinate your workload to ensure all deadlines are met and objectives achieved.
· To provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the service / department.
· Deal with correspondence on behalf of the admin manager when required.
· To process office stationery and procurement orders
Patient/Customer Care (if applicable) (both direct and indirect)
· Deal with issues that arise appropriately, including enquiries or complaints from members of the public and patients. Where appropriate refer or escalate to the admin manager, ensuring that no issue is inappropriately delayed in being actioned.
· Ensure good working relationships with all staff across the organisation and external agencies.
People (HR) Management
· Supervise junior team members

To have a working knowledge of the Data Protection Act, GDPR and its requirements, in respect to confidentiality for both patients and staff and ensuring any computerised information system is maintained as requested.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing comprehensive and high quality administrative and secretarial support to the Haringey Older People Service. You will have a NVQ3 or relevant practical experience. Applicants will demonstrate skills in word processing, as well as experience in using spreadsheets, email, electronic diaries and patient information systems. The post holder will be also required to cover the reception on a rota basis.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications is essential; training will be given in other software applications.
Previous experience of a secretarial/administrative role within the NHS, or similar is desirable.
