The site will then take you through the application process. Once this is complete we'll invite you to an induction meeting to go through what is required and answer any questions you may have. Please note that you do NOT have to have a driving licence to volunteer with our service.

Because you are visiting people in their own homes, we will need references and a DBS check but this can all be handled online and will cost you nothing. All applications are done via the Royal Voluntary Service website, https://www.royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk/volunteering

Despite what it may say on our website you do not need a driving license. You will need to be an adult, able to travel within and around Bristol and able to visit libraries and domestic dwellings. We also offer our service to residents in supported living projects and care homes.

We have readers waiting all over Bristol, we do not cover South Glos, North Somerset or BANES. All travelling expenses can be reimbursed, we also offer training, ongoing support from your local Service Manager and the opportunity to meet up with other volunteers.
