Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Senior Civil Engineer to work across an array of projects within our experienced team in Bury St Edmunds. Working as an integral part of the team, you will play a key part in delivering major Highways/Public Realm and/or Infrastructure/Drainage projects (including Residential, Custodial, Healthcare, Education, MOJ, Commercial, Leisure, Parliament).   • Producing technical designs, specifications and reports for a large variety of projects in terms of size, type, and complexity, both single discipline and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Mentoring and managing your design sub-team (project programming and planning and resources)
  • Bidding, fee preparation and client meetings.
  • Your core duties will include:
  • Assisting with achieving the discipline business plan targets through sustainable development of new and existing business relationships, supporting Associate Directors, Associates and Principals.
  • Taking an active role in delivering and maintaining technical standards on projects under your control.
  • Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of design consistent with the Client brief and programme.

Do you want to work as part of a collaborative, dynamic team of like-minded, talented professionals?, The successful candidate will have significant, proven experience, and be passionate about civil engineering. In order to be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A degree or equivalent in civil engineering or a related subject, working towards a professional qualification
  • Experience managing Civil Engineering schemes, as well as bespoke projects
  • Good knowledge of industry design software packages
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player with a confident, positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • It would be nice for you to have:
  • Incorporated/Chartered membership of ICE
  • Experience in a variety of different forms of contract
  • Confident liaising with new and existing clients and an ability to build a good rapport with other parts of our inter-disciplinary practice, and with external design teams
  • Robust problem solving skills, taking accountability for assigned work
  • Previous experience writing and presenting reports along with client interaction and work winning
  • The ability to lead a sub-team, focused on delivery of high quality design output.
