Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement department at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will support the Medical Device Safety Officer & Head of Clinical Products Governance and work in collaboration with GOSH Procurement, Supply Chain and wider teams., The post holder will support the Medical Device Safety Officer & Head of Clinical Products Governance and work in collaboration with GOSH Procurement Team to provide the Trust with the necessary clinical expertise and support required to review, standardise and rationalise the range of medical and surgical products used within the Trust, with a particular focus on the Health and Safety (Sharp Instruments in Healthcare) Regulations 2013 - commonly known as Safer Sharps, and Latex projects. This will involve reviewing the range of medical and surgical supplies and equipment in use, and identifying, sampling, trialling and evaluating alternatives with the intention of introducing best practice and value for money products without compromising the quality of patient care or clinical outcomes.
In particular, the post holder will be responsible for
(i) The management and timely completion of the Trust's Safer Sharps compliance programme (including the assessment of all sharps products used in the hospital and the identification of suitable alternatives)
(ii) The identification of all products and equipment in the Trust containing latex and the identification of suitable alternatives. Once completed, the post holder will be responsible for ongoing surveillance and maintenance of these work streams to ensure regulatory compliance.
