Full Job Description

This exciting opportunity is within the Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) platform for a Cloud Architect. As Cloud Architect you'll lead, direct and shape approaches to solving technical challenges and translating solution requirements into robust cloud solutions. You will work in a highly collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our cloud solutions working closely with the product and engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges. You'll be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy.

The ideal Cloud Architect will need to be able to display broad and deep technical experience with a passion for cloud engineering excellence. We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual, able to use and learn new skills in varying circumstances. You'll be continuously learning about technology and understanding how things work and influence positively - demonstrating the right values and behaviours and encouraging this in team members.,

  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, hosting patterns & services (especially GCP), cloud security, resilience, and operational excellence
  • Strong understanding of microservices, containerisation, cloud native, data architectures and event-driven design concepts
  • Strong understanding of API standards, security, networking, ingress/egress patterns & FinOps
  • Strong understanding of data technologies - SQL/NoSQL, Big Data
  • Experience working with enterprise-wide cloud patterns - networks, security, ingress/egress
  • Knowledge of ML/AI and data capabilities in GCP
  • Strong experience & knowledge of some key LBG development technologies (e.g. JavaScript, Java Spring Boot, Python)
  • Knowledge of the SDLC & SRE
  • It would be great if you also had…
  • Experience in the Banking & Finance industry
  • Cloud Certifications, particularly GCP
  • Preferable experience with ML/AI & Data Tooling in GCP
  • Experience in agile / iterative design working practices
