Full Job Description

With the expectation of 5 days per week on site in London, the Client requires someone with a high degree of technical competence who can design and implement new security functions and own the hands-on management of security systems. This role is suited to a candidate with technical engineering background as you will be responsible for maintaining and operating our security systems and deploying new security systems. This role demands someone who can work collaboratively with other teams to understand their needs and ensure they are following good security practices. The technical environment is modern and varied. We operate our own high-performance network both across London and more widely, and we have considerable infrastructure as well as significant use of cloud. This role offers opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and methods in a high-growth setting., (Please note that this list is not exhaustive)

  • Monitor systems security posture and seek improvements (e.g., vulnerability management) on a continuous basis.
  • Research security weaknesses and vulnerabilities and find ways to counter them.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement cyber security solutions.
  • Manage technical evaluations and proofs-of-concept for new cyber security solutions.
  • Manage internal and external security testing (red, blue, purple), and security assurance testing.
  • Participate in security evaluations and risk assessment of vendors and third-party solutions supplied
  • Work with our Systems Engineering team to ensure security capability and systems development are harmonised.
  • Respond to security incidents, leading or assisting in initial response, recovery, remediation and lessons learned as necessary., Stakeholder Management

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
  • Seven or more years' experience as a Security Engineer or related position.
  • Proven experience developing, operating and maintaining security systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating system and database security.
  • Proficiency in networking technologies, network security and network monitoring solutions.
  • A broad knowledge of security systems and technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Versatile and adaptable - comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with Systems Engineering teams, DevSecOps, CI/CD.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP/GSEC + appropriate security-related AWS, Redhat (or similar) or MS Certs desirable
  • Experience with AM Quartex and Chronical advantageous
  • Must understand Compliance and Security processes
  • Must love building from scratch and taking on challenges
  • Consistently deliver quality and efficiency
