Full Job Description

In this exciting opportunity you will be part of a team accountable for the smooth and frequent deployment of a range of our restaurant and digital products. You will be planning and ensuring the readiness for deployment of the latest and greatest features and releases to ensure restaurant and product stability.,

  • Support the planning and sequencing of all digital and restaurant technology deployment activities leading up to a successful deployment e.g., mobile app; website; delivery, kiosk, POS.
  • Accountable for deployment readiness ensuring restaurants &/or our partners complete the checks which need to be performed ahead of any deployment and for ensuring these have been completed.
  • Responsible for the configuration and setup of any products and tools ahead of deployment commencing, including working with the Test function on validating these configurations.
  • Evaluate existing deployment procedures and recommend improvements and standardisation changes.
  • Assist in deployment risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Work closely with the Asset & Configuration team to ensure that restaurants are appropriately configured for any new software deployments and tools are in place.
  • Ensure quality is met in every deployment step.
  • Measure and report on deployment readiness and raise exceptions to the Asset & Configuration team to reduce future incidents.
  • Co-ordinate with the Comms & Engagement Specialist to develop a deployment communication plan.
  • Accountable for feeding back on stability of deployments working closely with the Product Managers, Quality team and suppliers.
  • Attend relevant multi-functional team meetings and contribute as required.
  • What Team will I be a part? You will work as part of the Deployment & Testing team which forms part of the wider Technology team for the UK&I and Global business. We are a high energy team, looking for an individual who can add their talent and personality to make us even better. Who are my customers? Customers of this role will include:
  • Our Franchisees and restaurant teams
  • Global Technology colleagues in other McDonald's markets and those working in global and segment functions.
  • Our supplier partners
  • Work closely with Asset & Configuration team to ensure restaurants are configured correctly pre-deployment.

    An individual who understands the importance of building relationships across the business, with excellent curiosity, communication and influencing skills will do well in this role. An attention to detail, an analytical approach and the ability to quickly identify the root cause of issues will be critical to success in the role. An individual fulfilling this role will be passionate about and demonstrate success in:
  • Previous product deployment experience an advantage.
  • Proven success record in planning technology deployments.
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal and presentation.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and experience in dependency management and configuration.
  • Extensive experience in using Jira and Confluence.
  • Computer Literate - Sophisticated Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Comfort and experience working in a fast paced and changing working environment.
  • Experience in identifying and using external best practice to deliver best in class deployment solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and curiosity to explore new ways of working.
  • Display leadership behaviours and characteristics and a desire to develop self.
  • Experience and an ability to think outside of the box to tackle problems supporting a more frequent and smoother deployment process.
