Full Job Description
The Solution Owner is a key role within the Value Stream Team, responsible for defining and delivering innovative and fit for purpose solutions to meet business objectives within an Agile IT organization. This role requires a deep understanding of the organization's strategic goals, customer needs, and market trends, as well as strong leadership and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. The Solution Owner acts as the liaison between business stakeholders, and the development and run teams, ensuring alignment, prioritization, and successful delivery and support of solutions. Invoice to Cash is a business critical process for the company - it starts from the moment an invoice is generated until the customer's debt (payment) is settled. D&T Invoice to Cash Solution Owner is responsible for the delivery of the new solution(s) within the LEAPFROG programme scope. Top Accountabilities Solution Strategy and Vision:
- Develop and communicate the vision and strategic direction for the software solutions within the value stream, considering business goals and market needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives and customer needs.
- Prioritize features and user stories based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer feedback. Agile Delivery Management:
- Act as a servant leader within the Agile team, facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions, adhering to Agile principles and best practices.
- Continuously monitor and measure project progress, identifying and resolving issues and risks to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Run teams in establishing and delivering appropriate service levels Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with business stakeholders, product managers, and end-users to understand their needs, gather requirements, and provide updates on project status.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring effective communication channels are in place to address concerns and solicit feedback.
- Collaborate with other Solution Owners, Product Owners, and Value Stream Leaders to ensure alignment across teams and maximize value delivery. Product Ownership and Definition:
- Define and prioritize user stories and product backlog items based on input from stakeholders, market analysis, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and development teams to ensure user-centric design and delivery of solutions.
- Provide clarity and guidance to the development and run teams on product requirements, acceptance criteria, service level objectives and desired outcomes. Continuous Improvement and Learning:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the value stream team, encouraging experimentation and innovation.
- Gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders and end-users to drive enhancements and evolve the product roadmap.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Agile methodologies, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team. Budget :
- Total cost of ownership management and optimisation across people, portfolio, BAU for their area.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Proven experience as a Solution Owner, Product Owner, or similar role within an Agile environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles, frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), and software development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into clear product requirements.
- Experience in the IT industry, preferably with a focus on software development and delivery.
- Familiarity with relevant technologies, tools, and concepts in the software development lifecycle(S4Hana's FSCM module, Esker, HighRadius and other industry-wide OTC tools)
