Full Job Description
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for Developer Experience SRE that aligns with the company's goals and objectives
- Leads the development and execution of strategy for delivery teams, aligning with strategic business objectives
- Lead incident response efforts for major system outages, ensuring rapid resolution and communication with stakeholders
- Ensure that all development operations comply with relevant security standards and regulations, mitigating risks and protecting the organization's assets
- Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through to deployment, operation, and refinement
- Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
- Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing global team, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to excel
- Manage the budget for the Developer Experience SRE team, making strategic decisions about resource allocation and investment in tools and technologies
- Work closely with software engineering, security and other departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment of DevOps practices across the organisation

- Previous or current hands on software development experience
- SRE / TechOps strategies and practices
- Developer Tools and strong understanding of containeriation and orchestration technologies (ex: GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- General understanding of Databases
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in building and developing high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strategic thinking and problem solving abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation, The ability to set a clear vision for Developer Experience SRE and inspire your team to achieve ambitious goals
- Experience of runtime practices including observability, monitoring, alerting as well as resilience, availability and scaling
- A deep understanding of modern development operations practices and technologies, enabling you to make informed decisions and drive technical excellence
- A strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared success
- Proficiency in software development methodologies and tools, enabling you to collaborate effectively with development teams
- Knowledge of data centre operations and management practices, ensuring compatibility and integration with existing infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Director of Developer Experience SRE to join our engineering leadership. This role is crucial in ensuring our development processes, tools, and infrastructure are optimised for availability, resilience, efficinecy, reliability and scalability. One of the key developer platforms at LSEG is DXOne, which hosts all the core IP for IT systems across the company. DXOne is used by over 10,000 Engineers at LSEG, across all business lines, along with associated collaboration tools like Asana and Jira. This role will increase the ability of the Engineering Experience Team to build and execute strategies to reduce impact from critical operational incidents. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background, coupled with a track history in an operational / SRE role as well as excellent leadership and management skills. You will be responsible for overseeing our Platform Engineering teams and driving continuous improvement across our development lifecycle. Essential Skills
