Full Job Description

Join us! As we're looking to hire a Duty Manager to join our Operations Control Team, based at Head Office, Leeds Bradford Airport. Reporting to the Operations Control Manager, our Duty Manager - Operations Control is responsible for the effective management of the Operations Control Team, ensuring that the daily flying programme is planned and operated safely and in accordance with all Company and statutory requirements. This role plays a vital part in supporting the overall achievement of Jet2.com's 'On Time Performance' targets. This role will work across a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off - 12 hour),

  • Ensuring that Jet2.com's flying programme is implemented in a safe and timely manner and that appropriate recovery actions are taken in the event of disruption or change. As a strong leader, you will coach and mentor the Team to deliver maximum productivity, providing the support and opportunity required to enable them to grow and develop.
  • You will be a lead point of contact for all the Operations Control Centre teams, ensuring the operations programme is planned, coordinated and operated accordingly to all Company statutory and safety requirements. As well as managing the daily running of the Operational programme, ensuring that all aspects of the operation have been covered by the Controllers.
  • Maintaining clean and open lines of communication with relevant internal and external colleagues, providing accurate and up to date information to facilitate effective decision making.
  • You will take a commercial approach to the allocation and utilisation of both planned and stand-by aircraft to further ensure that all non-revenue flying is kept to a minimum.

You will have previous experience working in a supervisory role within an Airline Operations Control Centre, with a proven track record for leading and developing high performance Teams. Any experience within ground Operations, Passenger Handling Engineering or flying would be an advantage.
  • Be a confident communicator with a natural ability for developing effective relationships both internally and externally.
  • Experience of forward planning and adapting to a constantly changing environment is essential.
  • You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of On Time Performance with experience of working under your own initiative and to tight timescales.

The Operations Control Centre (OCC) within Jet2 is one of the busiest areas to work within the company.
  • It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year! This is the area of the business where the decisions made have a direct impact on our Customers, Aircraft and Colleagues. With this comes a lot of responsibility but also a lot of pride. If you want a role where no 2 days will be the same and to be involved in an area that has arguably the biggest impact on our day to day flying programme, then our Operations Control Centre is the place you want to be!,
  • Competitive salary, with annual pay review
  • Colleague discounts on Jet2holidays and Jet2.com flights
  • Management Bonus scheme
  • Contributory pension scheme
